Streaming HD videos, gaming and downloading large files eat up the most bandwidth. To achieve a virtually seamless experience with less lag, you may want to consider speed plans 100 Mbps and above. For all other activities like streaming music, surfing and video conferencing — anything above 25 Mbps should be enough.
A leased line, also known as a dedicated line, connects two locations for private voice and/or data telecommunication service. A leased line is not a dedicated cable; it is a reserved circuit between two points. The leased line is always active and available for a fixed monthly fee.
Leased lines can span short or long distances. They maintain a single open circuit at all times, as opposed to traditional telephone services that reuse the same lines for many different conversations through a process called switching.
When browsing for a new Internet provider, you’ll likely be presented with a plethora of broadband packages and options. Business broadband with unlimited downloads, business broadband with a 1Gbps link, fiber broadband vs. conventional broadband, and so on.
Leased lines and broadband both claim to be able to provide a high-speed internet connection for your business. However, there are variations between them that affect the pace you can achieve. Leasing lines are more stable because of these variations. However, the size of your network and the software you use will eventually determine if you can use a leased line or a broadband connection.
Business broadband is a high-speed, commercial-grade internet connection with added features and dedicated customer support.
The Semi Corporate leased line has dedicated Internet Service is suitable for those enterprise clients who require a dedicated internet service with high uptime guarantee of 99.9%. We provide the service by providing a dedicated IP for which bandwidth is assigned. With most of the client connected to optical fiber; prompt support is the salient feature of this package backed by primary & secondary connectivity with automatic failover while primary link is down.
Virtual Private Network A virtual private network, or VPN, is an encrypted connection over the Internet from a device to a network. The encrypted connection helps ensure that sensitive data is safely transmitted.
Multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) is a technique for speeding up network connections that was first developed in the 1990s. The public Internet functions by forwarding packets from one router to the next until the packets reach their destination. MLPS, on the other hand, sends packets along predetermined network paths. Ideally, the result is that routers spend less time deciding where to forward each packet, and packets take the same path every time.
OTT stands for “over-the-top” and entails any streaming media service that distributes content via the internet. It got its name because the content gets delivered through another platform (medium), i.e., “over the top” of another device.
OTT platforms are a handy way of bypassing cable or satellite TV providers, who were traditionally in full control over content distribution. With these solutions, the user is the one who controls what they consume, not the provider.
An increasing number of organizations are opting for the leased line because it delivers better performance at a lesser cost. Furthermore, leased lines come with a connection that may be tailored to derive unwavering bandwidth and more uptime. This is better than the vanilla broadband configuration that cannot priorities the needs of different users.
A leased line is provided exclusively to the business that has subscribed to it and it is an ‘always-on’ connection with both data as well as voice-based solutions. The subscription amount is usually paid on a yearly basis. As this is a dedicated connection, it comes with a promised bandwidth supported by a Service Level Agreement (SLA).
When they subscribe to a leased line service, businesses have the guarantee of promised download and upload speeds at all times. This ensures better performance for their operations than a common broadband connectivity that compels them to contend for Internet speed and bandwidth with other consumers. Furthermore, they can alter the upload and download speeds as required to meet their particular business needs. And they pay purely for the actual bandwidth used by their organization.
